Автобиография Michelle Koeth.Music has always been an integral part of my life. But then, every musician knows this! And alas.. I am no different this way. But the path I've taken to get to this point, has been.. circuitous to say the least...
In 2000, I graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering. My parents encouraged me to study engineering because like most parents who care about their children having enough money to pay the bills, they did not think I would survive with a career in music. Alas, I found a way to fit music and art in - I took electives in computer graphics, and multi-media signal processing.
Degree in hand, it was time to "grow up". I worked in industry for four years in various roles from programming routers to programming transactional websites. And along the way, I met some very inspirational local rock musicians who encouraged me to take the dive into home studio production.
During these four years, I was also working on an M.S. degree part time at Drexel University at night when I had the opportunity to take a class on "Engineering Disasters". I found studying the combination of law and engineering facinating, and decided to go to law school full time.
The summer before law school, I had some time to build up my home studio and work on music. Working on music compositions brought a peace to my life like nothing else ever had before. It was because I had a successful career in industry that I could afford my home studio. I can't say that I made a mistake with my education that way.
Last year I started my studies at Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, IL. Because of my studies I was too busy to invest enough time in my music, but would network with other artists, and try to learn more about the industry in general.
After completing my semester of law school, I decided to dedicate all of my "free" time on music. I met a talented Russian producer, Alex Smirnov, who worked with me on a few collaboration tracks, and encouraged me to develop my singing abilities. An experienced trance musician of 3 years, Alex also helped me develop my home studio.
I met Italian DJ, Alberto Bambini,
www.djpurepath.com in June of 2005, and had the fortune to travel to Italy to record a collaboration piece with him.
After all these experiences with music, technology and law, I hope to make Wavefront Music the first step in starting my own entertainment/IP law firm. I've always enjoyed being an advocate for others - and I see this role actualized in helping other artists reach their dreams.
To this end, I have this website & knowlege of websites in general, I have plenty of disk space. I've come from the grassroots of music production and promotion. If you are a musician, looking for a little help with... anything.. feel free to contact me -
